Texture / Equipment / Application
Viscosity without conditions is incomplete.
Give the next person enough information to repeat the comparison.
Attach the conditions to the value
Keep the instrument method, geometry, sample temperature and speed or shear rate with the reported apparent viscosity. A bare number leaves the comparison undefined.
- Identify the instrument and geometry.
- Record sample conditioning and reading time.
- State the unit and acceptable target range.
Do not substitute pump sizing for a lab result
The laboratory requirement helps describe the product. The transfer duty still needs the actual inlet, circuit, pressure and temperature conditions.
- Show the real suction arrangement.
- List restrictions and elevation changes.
- Compare product before and after transfer.
Make change visible
When a method or condition changes, keep the earlier result as a different observation rather than silently treating the new value as an improvement.
- Compare matched methods and temperatures.
- Record relevant sample history.
- Keep the application trial alongside numerical criteria.
