Viscous product transfer

Purée at the real pump inlet temperature and supply condition, including air, particles or fibre and the available pressure or vessel head.

The product handoff

What should leave this duty?

A controlled stream delivered to the next duty. Flow stability and observed texture change should be assessed at the same time as pressure and cleanability.

Variables to compare

Compare measured pressure loss and flow across the complete proposed circuit. Ask how speed, inlet condition and the selected geometry affect product handling.

02 / Equipment review

Where selection can go wrong

A single viscosity value cannot size a complete transfer duty. Pipe length, restrictions, temperature, startup state and the non-Newtonian response can change the operating requirement.

03 / Equipment review

Cleaning & inspection

Inspect seals, product-contact clearances, drainage and removal access. Include the connected pipework and valves in the cleaning scope, not just the pump body.

04 / Equipment review

Installation & process interfaces

Specify source vessel, elevations, line sizes, required destination pressure, valves and interlocks. Resolve inadequate suction conditions before adding more pump speed.

Evidence for the proposal

Request a duty-specific selection, verified operating limits and representative inlet/outlet samples, with the complete circuit and test conditions identified.
